Completing Request 40 in Pokemon Legends: Arceus requires players to navigate the murky waters of the Crimson Mirelands. The mission involves helping an NPC retrieve a personal item lost during an encounter with wild Pokemon. Tracking down the exact spot in the vast swamp can be tricky without a clear understanding of the surrounding landmarks.
Starting The Charm Lost In The Swamp Request
To initiate this quest, travel to the Crimson Mirelands and speak with Yojiro near Bogbound Camp. He explains that he dropped his precious charm after being startled by a Hippowdon in the area. Knowing the backstory gives players a clear direction on where to begin searching for the lost object.
Locating the Lost Charm in the Crimson Mirelands
Head south from the camp down toward the muddy Sludge Mound region. Search near the center of the swamp for a small isolated island featuring a fallen tree log. Nearby in the shallow water, you will notice a faint glimmering sparkle on the ground.
Defeating the Wild Hippowdon Encounter
Approaching the glittering spot triggers a short cutscene where an angry Level 34 Hippowdon appears. Prepare your party with Grass, Water, or Ice-type moves to quickly defeat this Ground-type opponent. Once the battle concludes, Yojiro arrives to reclaim his charm and reward your efforts.
